Review: Line of Duty (Series 3)
DVD: Line of Duty (Series 3) (2016)
In an age of Netflix and serial binge watching of TV shows, waiting week on week for the next episode of BBC 2βs βLine of Dutyβ has been tortuous. With character arcs as wide as Breaking Bad and a story that goes as deep as Vicky McClureβs DC Kate Fleming, and unafraid of killing off major characters almost immediately while giving the role of a lifetime to Keeley Hawes as DI Lindsay Denton, this really is unmissable TV.
Perhaps the only problem with the series is; you canβt just dip into it, you must start from the beginning but the rewards are great. A truly gripping storyline in all 3 series, that is not only full of seat clenching surprises but also interweaves into later storylines making this an almost Shakespearian tale of corruption, power and greed at the very heart of society.
Fantastic performances from all actors, Martin Compston, Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and most notably for me, the 50s throw back, βis he or isnβt heβ? Craig Parkinson as βDotβ Cottan.
I really canβt praise this series enough. If you like crime drama itβs a must, if you like well acted crime drama with a cracking story, start at the beginning, youβll thank me for it.
