Blu-ray: The Land That Time Forgot (1974) The first time that I watched The Land That Time Forgot was as a 9 year old boy at a single screen cinema in our local town, sat next to my dad. So began a period in my life when Doug McClure was my action hero of the […]
Blu-ray: Suspiria (1977) This 40th anniversary edition Blu-ray of the Dario Argento classic ‘Suspiria‘ is an absolute treat in both its picture quality (from a new 4K scan) and content. Having owned various releases dating back to good old VHS and numerous DVD versions, this Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment had me in awe at the […]
With Christmas and the New Year festivities over, it is time for movie fans to look back over twelve months of highs and lows, blockbusters and flops, high profile disappointments and left-field surprises and compile their own – highly subjective – top ten lists. Blu-ray: The Wonderful Worlds of Ray Harryhausen, Volume 2: 1961-64 After singing the praises of Volume 1 of this collection in my review last month, it was with great pleasure that I got to sit through yet another superb box set release from Powerhouse Films.
