Review: The Chucky Collection Limited Edition 4K UHD
Well, this is a stonker from Arrow! A box set to end all boxsets for Chucky fans. Now we (as in horror film fans) all know the Don Mancini 1988 film ‘Child’s Play’ telling the story of serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who after being fatally shot in a toy store transfers his soul into […]
Review: Teardown
The console release of Teardown has had me quite excited for a while now, with promo videos of total destruction whetting my appetite to unleash the berserker inside of me.However, my excitement was tempered upon starting the game and discovering that there was no option to invert the Y axis, making it totally unplayable for […]
Review: Dredge – The Pale Reach DLC
I very much enjoyed playing Dredge earlier this year (review here) and so was excited to try the 1st DLC for the game: “The Pale Reach”.Everything I loved about the original game remains the same: the beautiful art style, the “go anywhere and discover” narrative that let’s you find the hidden stories as and when […]
Review: Godzilla Minus One
Can you believe Godzilla is almost 70? The first film was released in 1954 and Godzilla Minus One marks the 37th movie in the franchise. This could be viewed as a reboot prequel of sorts as it’s set in postwar Japan, and deals with a country and it’s people struggling to come to terms with that. […]
Review: Tremors 2: Aftershocks Limited Edition 4K UHD
4K UHD: Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996)Having reviewed and enjoyed Arrow’s 4K UHD release of Tremors, I was delighted when the sequel was announced as another 4K UHD release.Set 6 years after the original movie (the same period between the movies themselves), Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) has long since used up the fame that was bestowed […]
Review: Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing
Mario Kart…there, I’ve said it and got it out of the way early.Inevitably any kart racing game that gets released will be compared and contrasted to one of the all-time greats. So, with that out of the way, let’s move onto the game. It’s hard to go wrong with a kart racing game and Dreamworks All-Star Kart […]
Review: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
I didn’t play the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl so can’t really comment on any improvements in gameplay, characters, etc, and despite not being a huge fan of “fighting” games, I have enjoyed many a session on the Super Smash Bros series of games with my son…of which this game shares a lot of common ground.First […]
Review: Porno
Based on the Irvine Welsh book of the same name, Porno has already had one adaptation – on the big screen in Trainspotting 2 back in 2017. Like the movie, this is only a loose adaptation of the book and loose is really the best word for it as not a lot happens in this show. After […]
Review: Micro Scalextric – Batman vs The Riddler
In November last year Scalextric kindly sent me their “Back to the Future vs Knight Rider” set to review. One year later and they’ve once again brought a big smile to my face and sent me their Micro Scalextric Batman vs The Riddler set to review. As with the previous set, it was far better to make […]
Review: Ghostrunner 2
I’ll be perfectly honest and say that I’d never even heard of the original Ghostrunner game, which is not surprising really when my fave video game genres are racing and RPGs, and those are what I mostly keep an eye open for.So what was it about Ghostrunner 2 that peaked my interest when we were […]
