The 1980’s, movies and video games: 3 of my passions for many years now, so when we were offered a video game for review that begins in the 80’s where you assume the role of the head of your own movie studio, I was of course immediately intrigued. The premise of it all is a simple […]
Kana Quest on the Nintendo SwitchA review by Megan Robinson.Kana Quest is a colourful game where you match similar sounding kana symbols (Japanese phonetic letters) together to complete levels. The aim of this game is to help you learn how to read Hiragana and Katakana by the end of it in a fun, and interactive […]
Who doesn’t like headshots?Well I suspect the receiver of said shot, I suppose for them it marks something of a blip in their day along the lines of drooling toothpaste onto a freshly ironed sweater if not even worse. The satisfying skull pop associated with a pinpoint sniper rifle when the head is removed from its […]
One of the great things about the Nintendo Switch is that not only can you use it as a portable gaming console while on the go, you can also hook it up to a TV/monitor and sit back and enjoy some big screen gaming. In both instances the included joy-cons are serviceable enough, but to […]

In that instance, TotalBiscuit (RIP) described how Doom 2016 built upon the scrappy, rapid yet meticulous combat of its progenitors by adding platforming […]
I enjoy side-scrolling shoot ’em ups, or shmups as they are often referred to, as they remind me of a more innocent time when I played a lot of them in arcades or on my home computer. I’ve reviewed a few of my favourites including U.N. Squadron and Apidya to name a couple. If you’ve played […]
After reviewing the original release of Lawn Mowing Simulator last year, then jumping back onto my mowers just before Christmas to review the Ancient Britain DLC, I’m once again risking setting off my hay fever by cutting some more grass in the new Dino Safari DLC.Much like the previous DLC, this adds a few new […]
The trolley problem is the paradigm of moral dilemmas. I say this with confidence, because it’s the only one I know, and I know nothing. It’s classic: if a train was barrelling towards five people tied to the tracks, would you pull the lever to move the train onto a different route, killing just one […]
Even if you’re a casual gamer, chances are you’ve played a game developed or published by Taito. The quality and depth of their catalogue is extremely impressive featuring titles such as Space Invaders, Arkanoid, Bubble Bobble, Renegade, Double Dragon, Operation Wolf, Rainbow Islands, Chase H.Q, and The New Zealand Story to name a few. With […]
