Golden Robot Global Entertainment
Golden Robot Global Entertainment is growing at a rapid rate representing more rock bands internationally than any other independent Australian label. With over 350 bands worldwide ranging from countries as diverse as Israel, South Africa, Croatia, Italy, Sweden, Canada, the UK, to all over the USA, Europe, Japan and of course Australia, this truly international, independent music group is silently carving out its reputation and proving that it’s a force to be reckoned with.
There is no other independent Aussie label with such a diverse and rich roster representing and supporting rock from all over the world. Some of the best new bands on the scene have joined the ever growing family, such as English rockers The Crooks, who have recently caught the attention of Liam Gallagher, LA’s Them Guns featuring Pricilla Presley’s son Nav andDangereens who are hailed as the next The Strokes. The roster is broad, fresh and authentic, and producing worldwide hits.
The attraction to the group is an almost “cult-like” status. As bands join to be part of this ever expanding family, they cross-promote between each other and keep all engagement positive and supportive; this hasn’t been seen since the daysnception of Jimmy Lovine’s Interscope Records in the late 90’s.
Led by LA-based Aussie entrepreneur Mark Alexander-Erber, he and his global passionate team are bringing an exciting and innovative approach to marketing and promotions, being involved in numerous podcasts and video blogs. With so much content being created, they recently set up their own in-house production division led by US filmmaker Jonny Stofko. Original creation ROCK N FOOD was sold to Virgin Australia prior to the pandemic, while newer productions Robot Rant tackles real issues including online haters and trolls and 7 Mins Max have been building momentum since, with all these ideas ultimately made to promote GRGE artists and bands in unique ways, keeping each episode relevant and focused on the artist.
2021 has already seen some great achievements with the worldwide release of the new LA Guns, Gilby Clarke and Jefferson Starshipalbums, the announcement of Filter, Johnny Thunders (Lost Estate recordings), Hardcore Superstar, Hurricane #1, Dave Coutts, AshenMoon (Featuring Gary Beers from INXS), MC Roads (Featuring Mike Cross from Sponge), Vanilla Fudge, Silverhead, Dave Dalton,Smashed Gladys, The Hollywood Stars, Gunash (featuring Foo Fighters members) and a ton more. The most exciting new development is the re-launch of She Who Rocks Records, an all-female led and staffed label for femme power bands – this will turn the scene on its head and is exactly what’s needed in the international marketplace.
Golden Robot Global Entertainment Group CEO Mark Alexander-Erber had this to say about the group:
“2020 was a rough year for everyone, not least the music industry. However we didn’t let it stop our momentum – in fact we went at it harder and more determined, expanding the group to ten labels with the acquisition of Coffin and Bolt Records as well as the expansion of Crusader Records, Scratches Records, Social Family Records, Die Laughing Records and of course Golden Robot Records rosters with many signings worldwide. This momentum has carried over into 2021.
We’ve bolstered our UK and European roster with some really exciting bands that we expect big things from, including The Crooks, Callow Youth, Scuttlers, Honey Motel and theDirty Laces. We’ve signed some major acts overseas and we’re building up our base at home as well, with Australian bands such as Stonetrip, Ella Fence, Warped, The Mercy Kills, Full Tone Generator, The Ramshackle Army, Leadfinger, and Brother Brick. We’re very proud to have also obtained the entire Nick Barker, Stewart Cunnigham and Johnny Casino back catalogues which are full of some of the best Aussie music from the past 35 years.
All up, I’m really happy with how the group has continued to grow, and feel that we’ve set ourselves up nicely for 2021 / 22 with plans for the re-launch of She Who Rocks Records, our union with Songtradr, the expansion of our production, A/R and admin divisions. Another couple of international label acquisitions are in the works and there is more exciting news to be announced, including ventures here and overseas.
Rock n roll is everything to us and we will do all we can to keep it alive and well.”
