Live Event: Derren Brown: Showman, Apollo Theatre, London.
It’s a hard task to write a review about a Derren Brown show, even before you’re asked to keep the secrets of the show… secret.
Forgoing the temptation to simply write “it was good” and send this article to Dave, I will try and elaborate on that the best I can.
I first saw Derren Brown a few years ago with my Mum and brother in Norwich, and it was a great show however I didn’t find myself susceptible to any of the things he asked of the audience (I don’t think him asking things of the audience is a spoiler right?)
This time however, I definitely was. I’m not going to say what happened of course, but it really left me feeling a little out of sorts for a few days after!
I always wonder how they do it, but then I kinda think I don’t want to know – would rather not have that particular illusion shattered.
This show is something else, it’s interesting, often hilarious and surprisingly moving. Why? I can’t say that either but take my word for it.
The show runs to March and I strongly recommend it, even if I can’t write a hell of a lot about it!
