Review: BT ALC Big Band -The Iguana
Good things CAN come out of bad situations. The Iguana was recorded remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic by the all-star BT ALC Big Band. Trumpet maestro Alex Lee-Clark and trombonist Brian Thomas lead the gang of hep-cats through a classic piece of funked up Mod Jazz.
Be careful if you play this in the car, the right foot will be tempted to go down as you recreate some classic US 60’s TV detective show car chase through Wolverhampton side streets and Mark Zaleski and Karl Denson’s sax/flute combo give this instrumental a slice of cool while you are doing it.
Eric Krasno’s slick guitar coupled with Darby Wolf on keys keep the tempo flying, the track runs in at 4:21 but seems shorter and leaves you wanting another taste pretty soon.
Give this one a spin.
