Review: La Cha Cha
La Cha Cha (2021)
While on a road trip to scatter his Grandfather’s ashes, Solti Buttering (Liam Hourican) inadvertently finds ‘La Cha Cha’; a weird and wonderful holiday park with a community of retired people living “off the grid” and enjoying life to the full.
La Cha Cha owner Libby Rees (Ruby Ashbourne Serkis) and her brother Damien (Sonny Ashbourne Serkis) are struggling to keep the place afloat, but thanks to a bizarre plan, La Cha Cha just might be able to be saved.
Made during the pandemic and filmed using iPhone’s…AND having to endure TWO major storms during its 1 month filming, La Cha Cha is testament to what can be achieved with creativity and passion.
It’s 90 minute running time will have you guessing what will happen next as various quirky characters are introduced and their backstories revealed, each of them bringing something more outrageous to the narrative.
A message about being able to be yourself and enjoy your “Golden years” amongst fellow seniors, rather than be cooped up in a care home, La Cha Cha is an off-beat look at what life should be like.
Now go and watch it and find out about the goats…
La Cha Cha is on digital platforms now (iTunes, Sky, Amazon, Google)
