Review: To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar
Blu-ray: To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar (1995)
Blade AND Dalton in drag!? Where’s my credit card?
As if seeing the vampire hunter Blade (Wesley Snipes) and professional bouncer Dalton (Patrick Swayze) in drag is not enough for you to immediately buy this…
How about John Leguizamo (also in drag) joining them on an epic road trip?
Still not enough?
How about plenty of hilarity, outrageousness and a huge dollop of FUN?
I’ll also add that this is available on Blu-ray for the first time with an all new extensive restoration too.

The movie follows the 3 aforementioned people who end up in a car together riding across America after 2 of them have won a trip to Hollywood.
During their travels they meet a variety of people…some of whom are not quite sure what to make of them.
However, barriers are broken, laughs are had, and friendships are made in this heart-warming comedy that keeps getting better with each viewing.
Superman was sold on the tagline of “You’ll believe a man can fly”, whereas To Wong Foo could be sold with “You’ll belive Patrick Swayze is a woman”, as after 10 minutes all thoughts of his previous roles have dissipated and you fully appreciate how much he threw himself into the role.
A great comedy that guarantees laughs all the way.
