Review: Weapons of Death 4K UHD
Making its worldwide 4K UHD debut is Weapons of Death, a movie that I’d never seen before, but will definitely be watching again, as this the type of movie that I love; filled with action, violence, crazy characters and even crazier music, all wrapped around a narrative that could go in any direction at any minute.
The basic plot is that the police are trying to bring down kingpin gangster Santoro (played by the always watchable Henry Silva), who is so evil that even his own allies begin to turn against him.
Commissario Belli (Leonard Mann) has his heart set on bringing Santoro to justice, occasionally helped/hindered in equal measure by a young ‘streetwise’ boy, whose every appearance onscreen is accompanied by the most bizarre music score imaginable for a movie this violent. Though every time the kid appears onscreen he does something crazy…driving a sports car at high speed through packed city streets being just one example.
Written by Gianfranco Clerici (Cannibal Holocaust) and Vincenzo Mannino (The New York Ripper), it’s no surprise that this movie has its fair share of violence…right from the start it has a heavily pregnant women being viciously kicked in the stomach, and then just keeps getting more violent from there.
This may not appeal to everyone, but for me it ticked all the right boxes and is extremely watchable from beginning to end.
