TENEBRAE dual format 4K UHD + Blu-ray – Limited Edition
TENEBRAE dual format 4K UHD + Blu-ray – Limited Edition (1982)
Peter Neal (Anthony Franciosa) is an American pulp-fiction author who arrives in Rome to promote his latest book “Tenebrae”.
Unfortunately for Peter, upon his arrival a series of murders begin to take place, all of which copy murders from his book, along with pages of it being stuffed inside the victims mouth.
Written and directed by Dario Argento, this giallo classic takes many twists and turns before arriving at a brutal and bloody climax, while along the way showcasing Argento’s flair for intricate camera moves and bold use of colours, which are especially crisp and vivid in this new 4K restoration from the original camera negative by Arrow Films.
The special features are very special indeed and include the “Unsane” Version; a re-edited 90-minute US version, specially recreated for this release from the new 4K restoration of the full-length 101-minute version, exclusive to UHD, along with two audio options: a recreation of the original theatrical experience, complete with jump cuts and sudden audio shifts, and a new, more seamless edit created for this release, both in restored lossless English mono.
Tenebrae has long been one of my favourite Argento movies, and this release makes it look and sound like better than ever, accompanied by a slew of excellent special features.
