Rocket League

What do you get when you cross football with racing cars? The answer is Rocket League, one of the most fun games of 2015. Rocket League is one of those simple concepts that really shouldn’t work. The aim of the game is to score more goals than the opposition, but instead of controlling a team of players you control a car which is capable of speed boosts, diving headers and flying.
As is always the case with games that are easy to pick up and hard to put down, there is also a surprising amount of depth to the game. You can quite easily do the basic tutorial and go off and enjoy yourself, but if you take the time to learn some of the more complex moves, you will have more chance of becoming a Rocket League champion.
For me Rocket League incorporates the best of classic games such as Sensible Soccer, NBA Jam, and Speedball 2. It’s the quick immediate pick up and play nature of Rocket League that makes it so special. I can honestly say that I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much playing this game online. The fact that it was “free” as part of the PlayStation Plus subscription blows my mind and I’m really pleased that it is coming to Xbox One in 2016. If you haven’t already picked up this game then do yourself a favour and grab it now.
