Live Event: Hard Rock Hell 9
Despite being in its 9th year, this was myself and Ramrod’s first visit to Hard Rock Hell. Held at Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, Pwllheli in North Wales, the 3 day festival is an ideal meeting point for rock fans to get together, party, make new friends and listen to some fantastic music.
We were there for the Saturday (and are already making plans for the full weekend next year!) and despite the howling wind and torrential rain (a staple part of Welsh weather) the place was packed with like-minded rockers across all age groups.
Now I could sit here and write a HUGE review of our time there, but considering the fact that myself and Ramrod have just finished recording the links sections to our special 4 1/2 hour long Hard Rock Hell episode, I would thoroughly encourage everyone to go and download/stream that (it’ll be online Wednesday 25th November). It’s full of interviews with bands, tracks from their albums, as well as the 2 of us reminiscing about our time there.
However, until you do get around to listening to that show, what I will say is that this event is unmissable for anyone with even a passing interest in rock music.
The venue is superb and caters for all of your needs, especially so if you are staying for the full weekend. Accommodation, food, drink and stages are all close at hand. Add to the fact that each day is FULL of great music (where you can walk from 1 stage to the other in less than 1 minute!) and you have a set-up that just begs to be experienced.
Below is a poster showing just some of the bands that were at this years event, and when you listen to our show (you WILL listen to it won’t you!?) you’ll hear our interviews with:
- Pig Iron
- Chase The Ace
- Bigfoot
- The Picturebooks
- Dendera
- Loft
- Trespass
- Pirates of Panama
- King of the North
A written review can’t do justice to the hard work that the likes of Claire Lloyd and the team at Hard Rock Hell do to put this event on for everybody, so in closing I’ll say that this will NOT be our only venture to HRH and that given the chance we encourage you all to get tickets and get yourself rockin’ with the new found friends that you’ll make there.
For the full story on our time at HRH, either bookmark our webpage (where you’ll be able to download/stream the show) or subscribe on iTunes and make sure that you never miss an episode.
