While I was familiar with numerous stories of films having different things mysteriously go wrong during various stages of production, Cursed Films did the thing I love from all good documentaries and made me exclaim “well I never knew THAT!”…something this 5 part series elicited from me on numerous occasions.

Series One covers stories from Poltergeist, The Omen, The Exorcist, The Crow and Twilight Zone: The Movie, and while there are many fascinating stories from people involved in those productions, what adds an extra layer of intrigue and interest are the tangents each episode explores about supernatural forces and practices.

Some familiar stories are dismissed as fake, while others hold onto their credibility despite close scrutiny from the people who were there, who include Linda Blair, Richard Donner, Gary Sherman and many more.

All 5 episodes also include a director’s commentary, adding yet another layer of information and entertainment to what are already 5 hugely enjoyable episodes.

If you’ve ever heard stories of films being cursed, or even if you haven’t and want to discover what they are, then this Blu-ray and digital release is a must watch for all cinephiles…just keep one light on in the room to be safe.
