Review: Lack of Afro – You Could Do Better (feat Camila Recchio and Wax)

This second release from the excellent ‘I’m Here Now’ album is another showcase of Adam Gibbons’s (aka Lack of Afro) considerable talents in mixing rap with classic funk and soul. On You can do Better Adam lets Camila Recchio’s pure soul vocal steal the show. It’s only when MC Wax takes over do you realise that you are not listening to a bona fide 70’s slow soul classic.

A phrase that’s always tough for the recipient to hear You Could do Better lets Camila show the realization in her voice while Wax delivers the tough guy stoic stance in reply only we know it hurts.
