Review: Nick Faber & Rufus Stone – Sensational
In Charing Cross one day, Nick Faber came across busker Rufus Stone, and on hearing his ‘wailing harmonica’ he invited him into the studio to collaborate on The Lost Highway Tapes.
Faber recounts: “On ‘Sensational’ the guitar is me and the blues harp is Rufus“.
This is one of those instantly likeable songs, with a groovy beat and dancey slapping guitar, a little reminiscent of Nile Rogers and just as good. Rufus’ vocals are perfect (I hope we’ll be hearing a lot more from him) .
This is such an upbeat, feel GOOD song that will get you up on your feet and make you feel like the sun is shining.
Does exactly what it says on the tin, a sensational song.
Nick Faber’s The Lost Highway Tapes is due for an autumn release on Fabyl Records. Keep abreast of this release at https://soundcloud.com/fabyl-1
