Review: Project Silence 4K UHD
4K UHD Blu-ray: Project Silence (2023)
Mixing action, sci-fi and horror, Project Silence focuses on the survivors of a bridge on the edge of collapse who are now trapped on it. Unfortunately for them, also on the teetering bridge are a pack of mutant killer dogs who have escaped from their transportation van. Add in a toxic gas leak and some thick fog, and you have a nail biting situation where survival must come at a bloody price.
Written and directed by Kim Tae-gon, and starring Parasite’s Lee Sun-kyun, this is yet another South Korean movie that outshines a lot of its glossier Hollywood counterparts IF you can accept the CGI mutant dogs as a threat, which wavers throughout the movie due to some inconsistent FX work. Other than that it is fun watch, though I am a sucker for “disaster” movies in any shape or form.
The 4K transfer certainly helps with keeping everything clear and visible, especially as everything plays out at night and in the fog, so keeping as much visual detail as possible is very important.
The steelbook looks cool and is a great addition to anyones collection.
If you enjoy “turn your brain off” silly sci-fi/action/horror movies, then definitely give this one a try.
The film is released in a 4K UHD edition, a beautifully designed collectable 4K UHD Steelbook edition, Blu-ray and DVD.
