Directed by Euzan Palcy and co-written by Colin Welland, based upon André Brink’s novel, A Dry White Season was made in a time when Apartheid was still in place in South Africa.
Looks absolutely sumptuous in this 4K UHD release, the crimson of the title bursting from the screen as vivid as I’ve ever seen it.
There comes a point in the film where I asked Mr 60MWto turn it off, as I didn’t want to see anymore…but I was glued to the screen. What followed was an hour of absolute anguish, horror and trepidation.
This psycho-drama/slasher/borderline comedy is one hell of a fun watch and has never looked better than on this Severin Films release, which is available for the first time ever in UHD, scanned in 4K from the original camera negative with 6 hours of new and archival Special Features.
Mansion of the Doomed is one of those “how the hell has this passed me by until now?” kind of movies, with a crazy story and fantastic cast that had me enthralled until the very end.

It stars Jake Gyllenhaal as U.S. Army Captain Colter Stevens, who is sent into an eight-minute virtual re-creation of a real-life train explosion, tasked with determining the identity of the terrorist who bombed it.
Once again this collection is filled with family friendly escapist fun, while also showing how language, fashion and filmmaking has evolved from the 1940’s through to the beginning of the 1980s.
oy Kills World immediately draws some comparisons to the recently released Monkey Man – incredibly violent, revenge based and both feature Sharlto Copley in a small role.
