Review: House of Cardin
Digital Download: House of Cardin (2019)
I have to admit that I have zero interest in following fashion, as jeans and a t-shirt has been my attire of choice for over 40 years now. Having said that, it is even more of a compliment when I say that I really enjoyed watching House of Cardin.
Taking a look into the life and designs of Pierre Cardin was fascinating and left me wanting to know even more about the man who refers to himself in the third person, as he differentiates between Pierre Cardin ‘the man’ and Pierre Cardin ‘the brand’.
Yes I did laugh at some of the outrageous designs, but I was also drawn in by the stories of how he made it in the business and how driven he is to always give 100% in everything that he does. This is confirmed with some insights by celebrities who have worked with him and love his fashion, These include Jean-Paul Gaultier, Naomi Campbell, Sharon Stone, Alice Cooper, Jean-Michel Jarre and many more.
Made just 1 year before he passed away at the age of 98, this is a great starting point to look into the life of a man whose name (and brand) will live on much longer.
It’s still not going to get me out of jeans and t-shirt though.
