Review: Take Back
DVD & Digital: Take Back (2021)
Zara (Gillian White) is a successful business owner with a loving husband and daughter.
However, Zara’s life is turned upside down when her daughter is abducted by a mysterious stranger (Mickey Rourke) and forced into the seedy underground world that he he oversees.
Letting nothing get in her way to save her daughter, Zara uses acquaintances from her past life and her deadly fighting skills to seek revenge and save her daughter.
Featuring a great performance by Gillian White, who is equally as good at eliciting empathy from the viewer with her acting as she is at kicking onscreen ass in fight scenes, Take Back rises above the majority of lower budget action movies and draws you into the plight of Zara as she desperately tries to overcome the odds and return her daughter to safety.
Michael Jai White is excellent as Zara’s husband Brian, while Mickey Rourke exudes a sinister evil as Patrick; a man who truly doesn’t know what love is…even with his pet dog!
A solid action/thriller where you care about the characters and peppered with Gillian in some very enjoyable action scenes…more of which I hope to see her doing in the future.
Make sure to listen to my interview show with Gillian White too.
Take Back is released on DVD & Digital 29th March 2021 by 101 Films.
